Job Description – Driver (Forklift / JCB / Hydra / Tractor)

Job Summary

The Driver (Forklift / JCB / Hydra / Tractor) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of material handling and heavy equipment within the manufacturing plant. The role involves loading, unloading, shifting materials, supporting production and maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies, and statutory regulations.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Handling

- Operate Forklift, JCB, Hydra Crane, or Tractor as assigned.
- Load, unload, stack, and transport raw materials, finished goods, and machinery safely.
- Ensure proper placement and handling of materials to prevent damage.
- Assist in dispatch, warehouse, and production operations.

Equipment Operation

- Perform daily pre-start inspections of the vehicle/equipment.
- Check fuel, hydraulic oil, engine oil, coolant, tyres, brakes, battery, lights, and horn.
- Operate equipment only within the rated load capacity.
- Follow designated travel routes and speed limits inside the plant.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all company Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) policies.
- Wear mandatory PPE while operating equipment.
- Ensure secure lifting, loading, and unloading practices.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, near misses, or equipment defects immediately.
- Do not operate equipment without authorization or valid certification.

Maintenance





- Maintain cleanliness of the assigned vehicle/equipment.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Department for repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Record daily operating hours and maintenance observations.

Documentation

- Maintain daily logbook and movement records.
- Record fuel consumption and equipment usage.
- Report breakdowns and maintenance requirements.

Coordination

- Coordinate with Stores, Production, Dispatch, Security, and Maintenance teams.
- Support emergency material movement whenever required.
- Work in rotational shifts and overtime as per business requirements.

Qualification

- Minimum 10th Pass (12th Pass preferred).
- Valid Driving License applicable to the equipment being operated.
- Forklift Operator Certification (preferred for Forklift Drivers).
- Equipment operation training certificate is desirable.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience operating Forklift, JCB, Hydra, or Tractor in a manufacturing plant, warehouse, or industrial environment.

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions

- Manufacturing Plant / Warehouse / Yard Operations.
- Rotational shifts including night shifts.
- Outdoor and indoor work environment.
- Overtime as per operational requirements.

Statutory & Compliance Requirements (Gujarat Manufacturing Industry)

- Valid Driving License.
- Authorization to operate the assigned equipment.
- Compliance with the Factories Act, 1948, the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSHWC) Code, 2020 (as applicable), company safety rules, and applicable Gujarat State regulations.
- Mandatory use of PPE and adherence to site safety procedures.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
