Duties

- Set up and operate cylindrical grinding machines to achieve precise dimensions and surface finishes on metal components
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine grinding parameters and tooling requirements
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues to optimize performance and maintain production schedules
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on grinding equipment to ensure operational reliability
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication, assembly, and quality inspection tasks as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and machine logs





Experience

- Proven experience operating cylindrical grinding machines in a manufacturing or machining environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in machining processes such as CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, laser cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, press brake machines, and welding techniques
- Skilled in blueprint reading and interpreting GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) for exact manufacturing work
- Proficient with hand tools, tooling setup, calibration of precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers
- Basic math skills necessary for measurement calculations and process adjustments
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, quality inspection procedures, and assembly processes is a plus
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely when handling raw materials or finished parts is advantageous
