Role Overview

ALR Child Development Center is looking for a patient, energetic, and committed Special Education Teacher to support children who require additional help with learning, school readiness, communication, attention, behaviour, and independent functioning.

The Special Education Teacher will provide structured, individualised teaching based on each child's developmental and learning needs and work closely with parents and the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual and small-group teaching sessions for children with special educational needs.
- Assess each child's current learning level, strengths, and areas requiring support.
- Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) with specific and measurable goals.
- Teach foundational academic skills including reading, writing, phonics, spelling, comprehension, mathematics, and pre-academic concepts.
- Develop school-readiness skills such as sitting tolerance, following instructions, classroom routines, task completion, and participation.
- Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, learning difficulties, and other educational needs.
- Work on attention, memory, sequencing, problem-solving, organisation, and independent learning skills.
- Use visual aids, multisensory teaching, activity-based learning, reinforcement, and other appropriate teaching strategies.
- Modify activities, worksheets, teaching materials, and instructions according to the child's ability and learning style.
- Support the development of functional skills and independence appropriate to the child's age and abilities.
- Observe and manage classroom behaviours using positive and appropriate strategies.




- Monitor children's progress and regularly review teaching goals and strategies.
- Maintain IEPs, daily session notes, progress reports, and other required documentation.
- Prepare appropriate teaching aids, worksheets, visual schedules, and learning materials.
- Guide parents on simple learning activities and strategies that can be practised at home.
- Provide regular feedback to parents regarding the child's progress and current goals.
- Collaborate with psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and other professionals involved in the child's intervention.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and progress reviews.
- Coordinate with schools and classroom teachers when required to support the child's participation and learning.
- Maintain a safe, positive, structured, and child-friendly learning workplace.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree/diploma in Special Education from a recognised institution.
- RCI-recognised qualification and valid registration where applicable.
- Candidates with training in Autism, Intellectual Disability, Learning Disability, Early Intervention, or related areas are preferred.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a strong interest in working with children are welcome to apply.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
