A Bus Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily repair, preventative upkeep, and safety compliance of a transit or school bus fleet while managing a team of mechanics and technicians. They ensure vehicle reliability, maximize fleet availability, and minimize operational downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Team Leadership: Schedule shifts, assign repair orders, and train mechanics on mechanical techniques.
- Maintenance Planning: Implement preventative maintenance schedules for engines, brakes, electrical systems, and HVAC.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed repairs to verify safety, structural integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic defects in buses.
- Inventory Management:



Track and order spare parts, tires, fluids, and workshop equipment to avoid supply delays.
- Vendor Coordination: Partner with external service centers and third-party contractors for complex overhauls.
- Record Keeping: Maintain detailed digital logs of vehicle history, fuel tracking, and parts expenses using fleet management systems.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce workshop health protocols and ensure buses meet regional transportation and environmental emissions standards.
