Job Title: HT Electrician (High Tension Electrician)

Job Summary

The HT Electrician is responsible for operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high voltage electrical systems (typically above 1 kV up to 33 kV or more). The role ensures safe, reliable power distribution and compliance with electrical safety standards in industrial or utility environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operation of HT Systems

Operate and monitor HT panels, switchgear, and substations (11kV / 22kV / 33kV)

Handle incoming power supply systems, transformers, and feeders

Perform switching operations (on-load / off-load) as per SOP

2. Maintenance

Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of:

Power transformers

HT switchgear (VCB, SF6 breakers)

Protection systems and relays

Monitor transformer parameters (oil level, temperature, winding condition)

3. Troubleshooting

Identify and rectify faults in HT systems

Handle tripping issues, relay operations, and feeder faults

Coordinate with utility provider during major failures

4. Testing & Protection

Conduct tests such as:

Insulation Resistance (IR)

Transformer oil testing (BDV, moisture)

Relay testing and calibration





Ensure proper functioning of protection systems (overcurrent, earth fault, differential protection)

5. Safety & Compliance

Strictly follow HT safety procedures and permit systems

Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

Ensure proper earthing and grounding systems

Use appropriate PPE for high voltage operations

6. Installation & Commissioning

Assist in installation and commissioning of:

Transformers

HT panels and cables

Cable laying, termination, and jointing of HT cables

7. Documentation

Maintain logs of HT operations and maintenance activities

Prepare reports for faults, shutdowns, and testing

Update electrical drawings and system records

Required Skills

Robust knowledge of HT electrical systems (11kV–33kV or higher)

Understanding of transformers, protection relays, circuit breakers (VCB/SF6)

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single line diagrams (SLD)

Knowledge of substation operations

Fault analysis and troubleshooting skills

Qualification

ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹24,919.00 per month
