Position Purpose

The QC Chemist is responsible for performing quality control tests and analysis as per GLP of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet specified quality standards. Also responsible for GLP documentation and having troubleshooting and quality related investing knowledge. The role involves maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, recording and interpreting data, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Strategic Responsibilities

- Assist in the validation of new analytical methods and techniques.
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and quality reviews.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for quality control-related issues.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, R&D;) to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Assist in the preparation of quality documentation, such as test reports, SOPs, and batch records.

Operational Responsibilities

- Perform routine and non-routine testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using standard laboratory techniques and instrumentation (HPLC, GC, GC-HS, spectrophotometry, titration) as per GLP.
- Analyse and interpret test results, ensuring compliance with internal specifications and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records of testing and analytical data in compliance with GLP and company procedures.
- Ensure that laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated,



and operational as per GLP.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and reagents in compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.

Financial Responsibilities

- Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational (to avoid expensive repairs and downtime).
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals and reagents (prevents costly safety incidents and waste).

People Responsibilities

- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Production, R&D;) to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for quality control-related issues.
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and quality reviews (team and compliance coordination).

Education Qualification

M.Sc. – Organic or Analytical Chemistry

Work Experience

At-least 2-5 years of experience in similar industry

Industry to be Hired from

Chemical / Pharma Industry

Functional Competencies

- Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and instrumentation (e.g., HPLC, GC, GC-HS, UV-Vis, IR, titration).
- Familiarity with GLP, GMP, and other relevant industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in test result documentation.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.
