Programme Lead & Senior Consultant, Community Medicine Department

VPS Lakeshore is seeking an experienced MD in Community Medicine to lead the Community Medicine Department, a preventive health initiative built around community screening, early detection, data-driven triage, patient navigation, and hospital-linked public health delivery.

Position Summary

The Programme Lead & Senior Consultant will provide clinical, epidemiological, and operational leadership for the Community Medicine Department, bringing a thrust towards health and wellness within and outside the hospital system, overseeing population screening, early detection, multispecialty triage, patient navigation, and hospital-linked conversion, while also meeting NBEMS Senior Faculty requirements for DNB accreditation in Community Medicine.

Job Title and Reporting

- Job Title: Programme Lead & Senior Consultant, Community Medicine Department
- Qualification: MD/DNB in Community Medicine
- Experience: 10 years or higher post-qualification experience, including at least 5 years of full-time teaching experience as Assistant Professor or higher
- Location: Kerala, across command-centre, hospital, and field settings, with travel as required for camps, outreach, and stakeholder engagements
- Reporting To: Senior hospital leadership / designated program director

Role Purpose

The department operates as an integrated preventive healthcare platform with five linked pillars: the Health Pod, Outreach Programme, Mobile Medical Unit, Advanced High-Risk Service, and Command Centre. The Programme Lead & Senior Consultant oversees clinical strategy, risk-stratification, demographic targeting, and quality across these pillars, and holds the Senior Faculty role required for the department's DNB accreditation.

Core Responsibilities





- Undertake health risk communication and community engagement activities including advocacy for health and wellness
- Lead clinical and public health strategy across all pillars of the department.
- Define risk-stratification and demographic targeting criteria based on regional disease trends.
- Oversee screening workflows for non-communicable diseases, cancer risk, and other community health indicators.
- Strengthen screening, triage, referral, and follow-up systems to reduce patient leakage.
- Partner with the Research Wing on data interpretation, disease-burden analysis, and publications.
- Coordinate operations across the Health Pod, outreach camps, mobile unit, high-risk services, and Command Centre.
- Build partnerships with community, corporate, institutional, and government stakeholders for camp deployment and referrals.
- Develop preventive health packages and early-detection pathways aligned with hospital growth objectives.
- Review dashboards, field outcomes, and quality metrics to improve program performance.
- Maintain documentation, protocol compliance, and reporting standards, including those required for NBEMS DNB accreditation.
- Serve as the department's Senior Consultant, meeting NBEMS teaching-experience requirements.
- Travel as needed for field visits, camps, and stakeholder meetings.





The Programme Lead & Senior Consultant is the senior medical-public health authority for screening logic, field program design, and referral governance.

Candidate Profile

- MD/DNB in Community Medicine from a recognized institution.
- 10 years or more of work Experience
- 5 years or higher of full-time teaching experience as Assistant Professor or higher;
- Experience leading field programs, screening initiatives, or population-health operations across hospital, outreach, and stakeholder settings.
- Desirable exposure to preventive oncology, NCD screening, health systems strengthening, or CSR-funded public health programs.

Skills Required

- Solid grounding in epidemiology, screening models, and population-health planning.
- Ability to translate community health trends into field and hospital workflows.
- Leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills for corporate, community, academic, and government engagement.
- Rigor in documentation, protocol development, and reporting.
- Research orientation, including publication and thesis guidance in line with NBEMS requirements.

Pay: From ₹100,000.00 per month
