Job Summary

The Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules for shipbuilding projects, with a primary focus on Accommodation Outfit works (HVAC, Piping & Architectural). The role involves project planning, progress monitoring, coordination with engineering, procurement, construction teams, subcontractor management, and project controls to ensure successful project execution within schedule and budget.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Prepare the Master Project Schedule for shipbuilding projects, specifically Accommodation Outfit works.
- Develop the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for all phases of the project.
- Review and analyze the project scope of work, contract requirements, and project deliverables.
- Prepare and maintain the Engineering & Design Deliverables Register.
- Coordinate with the Procurement team to monitor the Procurement Status Report (PSR) and ensure timely material delivery.
- Develop Level 1 (L1) and Level 2 (L2) schedules during the project initiation and planning stages.
- Develop and maintain detailed Level 3 (L3) and Level 4 (L4) execution schedules for project implementation.
- Collect, review, and monitor Daily Progress Reports (DPR) from the site execution team.
- Prepare Weekly Progress Reports (WPR) based on site progress and project updates.
- Prepare Monthly Progress Reports (MPR) for management, stakeholders, and clients.
- Prepare monthly work summaries, manpower utilization reports, and project cost consumption reports.
- Verify subcontractor work completion certificates (WCC) and invoices against actual site progress.
- Develop and maintain project monitoring dashboards for critical activities and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Identify, monitor, and analyze the project Critical Path and ensure timely completion of critical activities.
- Develop baseline schedules and periodically update project progress using Microsoft Project Professional (MSP.




- Monitor planned versus actual progress and perform schedule variance analysis.
- Identify project risks, delays, and potential schedule impacts, and recommend mitigation measures.
- Perform resource planning, resource leveling, and equipment allocation optimization.
- Prepare Two-Week Look-Ahead Schedules based on the approved baseline schedule and available work fronts.
- Maintain and monitor project issue logs, action trackers, and document clearance status.
- Prepare Extension of Time (EOT) claims through detailed delay analysis and impact assessments.
- Prepare and manage Variation Orders (VO) and Change Requests (CR) in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate effectively between Engineering, Procurement, Construction, QA/QC, and other project disciplines.
- Maintain and update project control documents, including:
- Weekly Progress Report (WPR)
- Master Document Register (MDR)
- Procurement Status Report (PSR)
- Establish and communicate engineering and procurement deliverable target dates to support project milestones.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure effective project planning, monitoring, reporting, and successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in project planning and scheduling within shipbuilding, marine, EPC, offshore, or construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, Critical Path Method (CPM), Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), resource planning, and project controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, communication, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹33,000.00 per month
