Proposal Engineer – Bioprocess Equipment

Role Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically sound Proposal Engineer to join our Applications and Proposals team. This role involves analyzing customer User Requirement Specifications (URS), collaborating with cross-functional teams, and preparing precise technical write-ups and proposals tailored to client needs. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge with strong documentation and coordination skills

Key Responsibilities:

- Study and interpret User Requirement Specifications (URS), tender documents, and technical briefs shared by clients.
- Identify scope of supply, system design expectations, and compliance requirements from the URS.
- Prepare comprehensive technical proposals, including equipment descriptions, functionality, process flow, material specifications, and compliance standards (ASME BPE, cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Engineering, Automation, Production, Procurement, and Quality to gather necessary inputs, timelines, and costing data.
- Draft detailed equipment write-ups and concept notes for bioreactors, fermenters, process vessels, CIP/SIP systems, filtration units, and custom skids.
- Support sales and application engineers during customer meetings, technical clarifications, and audits.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance in all technical documentation submitted to clients.
- Maintain a repository of standard documents, templates, and previous proposals for knowledge management and reuse.





Required Qualifications:

No Freshers

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Biotechnology Engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in proposals, design, or documentation roles in the pharmaceutical or process equipment industry.
- Solid understanding of bioprocessing systems and cleanroom equipment used in cGMP facilities.
- Familiarity with PFDs, P&IDs;, equipment datasheets, and component selection (valves, sensors, agitators, etc.).
- Excellent written communication skills with attention to technical detail and structure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with AutoCAD is a plus.

Preferred Attributes:

- Exposure to regulatory requirements such as US FDA, WHO GMP, and EU guidelines.
- Experience in handling RFQs and proposal submissions for pharma/biotech tenders.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple proposals and deadlines simultaneously.
