JOB PROFILE:

The Senior Engineer will be responsible for the design, engineering, configuration, testing,
commissioning, and support of advanced power system automation solutions including PMUs,
SCADA systems, telemetry systems, RTUs, and FRTUs.



The role requires strong technical
expertise, project execution capability, and the ability to lead engineering activities across

multiple projects.

Designation: Senior Engineer

Department: Power & Automation

Reports to: Department Head

Location: Full Time On-Site, Howrah

Tasks:

- Design and configure systems for Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), SCADA,

RTU/FRTU, and Telemetry solutions.

- Prepare system architecture, network diagrams, and engineering documentation.

- Develop I/O lists, signal mapping, and control logic.

- Integrate field devices with SCADA/EMS/DMS systems.

- Configure communication protocols such as IEC-61850, IEC-104, Modbus, IEEE C37.118.2

- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)

- Ensure system performance, reliability, and compliance with standards

- Manage engineering deliverables within timelines

- Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal teams

- Diagnose and resolve issues in SCADA, RTU, and communication systems

- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and manuals

- Leadership: Guide junior engineers and technicians

- Review engineering work and ensure quality standards

- Knowledge on Ethernet Switches, Router and Firewall

- Knowledge on different type of communication Ethernet, Fiber optic, Serial RS232/RS485,

PLCC.





- Develop and maintain system documentation including architecture diagrams, wiring

schematics, and operational manuals.

- Knowledge on creating and reading Panel drawings/scheme

- Participate in system testing, commissioning, and validation activities.

- Monitor SCADA system performance and make improvements for reliability and

efficiency.

- Verifications of technical compliances of HW/SW systems

- Working with minimum supervision, execute assigned projects while working with other

engineering professionals in the team-based environment.

- Accountable for performing assigned tasks on projects within the scope and schedule. An

ability to learn new and varied protection and substation control technologies is essential.
- Continue developing skills and competencies by delivering more complex projects and

through participation in standard working groups and technical conferences.

- Achieve a high level of productivity.

- Travel Extensive to different locations

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or

related field.
- Strong knowledge of substation automation and grid monitoring systems

- Hands-on experience with RTUs, FTRUs, SCADA Systems.

- Ability to read electrical schematics and control diagrams.

- Understanding of electrical control systems and instrumentation

- Proficiency in SCADA platforms such as Aveva or Siemens WinCC.

- Strong understanding of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Wago, Phoenix Contact).

- Minimum Exp. 8 years of Design and Engineering

- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
