Maaricha is hiring an experienced and hands-on Production Manager for Injection Moulding to manage the production of synthetic cork closures and other small precision-moulded components.

The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of injection moulding machines, moulds, processing parameters, production planning, quality control and machine troubleshooting. This role requires someone who can independently set up production, reduce cycle time, control rejection and guide operators and technicians on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day injection moulding production and manpower.
- Set machine parameters, including:
- Barrel and nozzle temperatures
- Injection speed and pressure
- Holding pressure and time
- Screw speed and back pressure
- Cooling time
- Clamping force
- Conduct mould trials and establish stable production parameters.
- Optimise cycle time while maintaining product quality.
- Handle 4-cavity and 8-cavity injection moulds.
- Supervise mould installation, alignment, changeover and preventive maintenance.
- Check mould cooling channels, water flow, ejector movement, vents, gates and runners.
- Troubleshoot defects such as:
- Short moulding
- Flash
- Sink marks
- Burn marks
- Air trapping
- Flow marks
- Warpage
- Sticking and ejection problems
- Uneven foaming or density
- Work with materials such as and engineering plastics.
- Understand the use of masterbatch, additives and chemical foaming agents.
- Manage material drying, mixing, dosing, purging and colour changeovers.
- Operate and troubleshoot servo-hydraulic or conventional horizontal injection moulding machines.
- Understand shut-off nozzles, screw and barrel functions, hydraulic systems, heaters, sensors and control panels.
- Coordinate with mould manufacturers for mould corrections and improvements.
- Maintain production records, rejection reports, machine parameters and shift reports.
- Monitor product weight, dimensions, appearance and consistency.
- Train machine operators and ensure minimum manual handling.




- Implement preventive maintenance for machines, moulds, chillers, dryers, loaders and compressors.
- Reduce rejection, breakdowns, material wastage and power consumption.
- Ensure workplace safety, machine guarding and disciplined shop-floor operations.
- Support recent product development, sampling and customer-specific trials.

Candidate Requirements

- Diploma, B.Tech or technical qualification in Mechanical, Plastics, Production or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of practical injection moulding experience.
- Experience as a Production Manager, Production Supervisor, Process Engineer or Senior Machine Technician.
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines and mould construction.
- Ability to independently set and optimise machine parameters.
- Experience with foamed injection-moulded products preferred.
- Good understanding of mould cooling, venting, gating and ejection.
- Ability to identify production defects and take corrective action.
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor.
- Basic knowledge of production planning, quality systems and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to manage operators, technicians and shift production.
- Basic computer knowledge for production reporting and documentation.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

- Synthetic corks, bottle closures, caps, plugs, seals or small precision components
- Chemical foaming agents or microcellular moulding
- High-speed production and cycle-time reduction
- Multi-cavity moulds
- Shut-off nozzles
- Mould trials and new product development
- Automatic feeding, dosing, ejection and product collection systems

Important

This is a hands-on production role, not only an administrative position. The selected candidate should be capable of personally checking the machine, mould, material and process whenever a production issue occurs.
