Job Summary:

The Area Sales Manager (General Trade) will be responsible for leading and managing the sales operations within a defined geographical area, focusing specifically on the General Trade channel. This role involves achieving sales targets, expanding market reach, managing a team of sales representatives, and developing solid relationships with distributors and retailers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in FMCG sales, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the general trade market dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives for the assigned area within the General Trade channel.
- Lead, motivate, train, and manage a team of sales representatives, ensuring high performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
- Identify and onboard new distributors and retailers to expand the company's distribution network and market penetration.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities,



and consumer behavior to identify new business opportunities and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers to foster loyalty and maximize sales.
- Ensure effective execution of trade marketing activities, promotional schemes, and merchandising standards at the point of sale.
- Manage inventory levels and product availability across the distribution network to prevent stock-outs and optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess sales performance, gather feedback, and provide on-the-spot coaching to the sales team.
- Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and effectively to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards in all sales activities.
