Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Xero Accountant to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and leveraging the full power of the Xero ecosystem (including integrated apps) to streamline our financial workflows.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cloud accounting, a strong grasp of standard accounting principles, and a passion for automation and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Xero Management & Optimization: Oversee the daily administration of the Xero platform, including bank reconciliations, bank feeds, and data integrity checks.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L;, Cash Flow) directly through Xero.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the end-to-end AP and AR processes, utilizing Xero and integrated tools (e.g., Hubdoc, Dext) for automated invoice processing and receipt capture.
- Payroll & Compliance: Process payroll (if using Xero Payroll) and manage compliance requirements including sales tax, VAT, or GST returns (depending on location).
- App Integration & Ecosystem Support: Maintain and optimize integrations between Xero and third-party applications (e.g., Stripe, Shopify, inventory management systems, or project management tools).
- Assistance & Advisory: Provide insights on financial performance, variance analysis,



and cash flow forecasting to support management decision-making.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Certification: Xero Certified Advisor status is highly preferred (or a willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire).
- Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of professional accounting experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience exclusively using Xero.
- Tech Stack Savvy: Proficiency with Xero-adjacent tools like Hubdoc, Dext, Spotlight Reporting, or advanced Excel.
- Core Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounts.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
