Experience: 2 to 3 Years

Location: Ambattur, Chennai

Employment Type: Contract

We are looking for a passionate Associate QA Engineer with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in Manual and Automation Testing to join our QA team. The role focuses on executing structured testing across web and mobile applications, contributing to automation script development in Java + Selenium, and ensuring high-quality releases through disciplined test practices.

The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and eager to grow — someone who takes ownership of assigned modules, collaborates closely with developers and business analysts, and consistently delivers reliable test outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Test Execution:

- Perform manual testing across functional, regression, integration, and system levels for web and mobile applications.
- Execute assigned test cases, log defects with transparent reproduction steps, and verify fixes.
- Participate in sprint testing cycles and support release readiness activities.

Automation Testing:

- Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts using Java + Selenium under the guidance of senior engineers or the QA lead.
- Contribute to the automation framework by adding reusable components and improving script stability.
- Analyze automation results, triage failures, and raise defects for genuine issues.

Mobile Testing:

- Perform functional and compatibility testing on Android and iOS devices.
- Validate application behavior across different OS versions, screen sizes, and network conditions.

Test Design & Documentation:

- Write and maintain test cases, test data,

and test execution reports for assigned modules.
- Keep documentation up to date in test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).

Collaboration:

- Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to clarify requirements and confirm expected behavior.
- Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies — stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Communicate testing status, blockers, and risks proactively to the QA lead.

Key Requirements and Skills:

- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in software testing across web and mobile applications.
- Solid understanding of Manual Testing — functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Working experience with Automation Testing using Java + Selenium.
- Exposure to Mobile Application Testing on Android and/or iOS.
- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools such as JIRA and TestRail.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A learning mindset — willingness to pick up new tools, frameworks, and domains.

Good to Have

- Exposure to API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
