Job Summary

The Solar Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality installation and operation of rooftop and ground-mounted solar power systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems.
- Perform electrical wiring, cable routing, earthing, and panel mounting.
- Install solar modules, inverters, batteries, charge controllers, and monitoring systems.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of solar power systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in solar panels, inverters, batteries, and electrical components.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of solar installations.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company procedures.
- Inspect systems for performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with customers during installation and service activities.
- Maintain service reports,



installation records, and maintenance logs.
- Assist in warranty claim processing and replacement of defective components.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Travel to customer sites for installation and after-sales service.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of solar PV systems and components.
- Electrical wiring and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
- Familiarity with solar inverters, batteries, and monitoring systems.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Knowledge of safety practices and use of PPE.
- Valuable communication and customer service skills.
- Basic computer and mobile reporting skills.

Qualifications

- ITI (Electrician/Wireman) / Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Certification in Solar PV Installation (preferred).
- Valid driving license (preferred).
