About the Role Appsquadz Software Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Android TV Developer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Android application development, Android TV platforms, and video streaming technologies. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-performance Android TV applications, ensuring seamless user experiences, and optimizing video playback across TV devices and set-top boxes.

Required Skills
 5–8 years of Android Development experience
 Minimum 2+ years of Android TV Development experience
 Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin
 Good understanding of MVVM and Clean Architecture
 Experience with Android SDK and Jetpack Components
 Hands-on experience with Android TV Lean back Framework
 Strong knowledge of D-Pad Navigation and Focus Management
 Experience with ExoPlayer
 Experience with Video Streaming technologies: o HLS o MPEG-DASH
 DRM implementation experience (Wide vine preferred)
 REST API integration experience
 Knowledge of Room Database
 Coroutines and Flow
 Dependency Injection using Hilt or Dagger
 Git/GitHub version control
 Performance optimization and debugging skills





Good to Have
 Fire TV development experience
 Jetpack Compose for TV
 Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics
 CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)

 Video Analytics integration
 Subscription and In-App Purchase implementation
 OTT or Media Streaming application experience

Key Responsibilities
 Develop and maintain Android TV applications using Kotlin
 Build scalable and maintainable application architecture
 Implement Android TV user interfaces following TV design guidelines
 Develop smooth D-Pad navigation and focus handling
 Integrate and optimize ExoPlayer for Live and VOD streaming
 Implement HLS, DASH, and DRM-protected content playback
 Integrate APIs, analytics, and authentication systems
 Improve application performance, startup time, memory usage, and playback quality
 Collaborate with Product, Design, QA, Backend, and DevOps teams
 Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
 Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application stability

Preferred Background
 Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
 Experience working on Android TV, Video Streaming, OTT, Media, or Entertainment products
 Experience publishing applications on Google Play for Android TV
