A medical representative is responsible for promoting pharmaceutical products to doctors, pharmacists, and healthcare professionals; generating prescriptions; and achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit doctors, clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies regularly
- Promote company products and explain their benefits, usage, and side effects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Organize product presentations, CMEs (Continuing Medical Education), and meetings
- Provide product samples and promotional materials
- Keep records of doctor visits, sales, and market feedback
- Stay updated on medical knowledge and competitor products
Required Skills
- Strong communication and convincing ability
- Good presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceuticals/medicine
- Relationship-building skills
- Time management and discipline
- Willingness to travel frequently
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree (MBA in marketing, B.Sc, B.Pharm, D.Pharm preferred)
- Any graduate with sales skills may also apply
