Role Overview

We are looking for passionate and skilled Keyboard/Piano and Guitar Tutors to conduct engaging, structured, and outcome-oriented music sessions for students.

Candidates may specialise in Keyboard/Piano, Guitar, or both instruments. Tutors will be responsible for developing students’ technical abilities, musical understanding, creativity, confidence, and performance skills.

The role primarily involves conducting in-person classes at assigned residential communities, schools, learning centres, or students’ homes.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct Keyboard/Piano or Guitar training sessions for students in onsite and in-person formats.
- Teach music fundamentals, including notes, chords, scales, rhythm, melody, harmony, and music theory.
- Teach instrument-specific techniques such as:
- Keyboard/Piano: finger positioning, coordination, scales, chords, sight-reading,



and pedal techniques.
- Guitar: chord transitions, strumming, picking, fingerstyle, scales, tablature, and fretboard techniques.
- Train students in sight-reading, ear training, rhythm, improvisation, and performance skills.
- Plan and deliver structured lesson plans based on each student’s age, skill level, learning pace, and objectives.
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, internal assessments, and graded music examinations.
- Regularly assess student performance and provide constructive feedback, practice assignments, and progress updates.
- Encourage creativity, musical expression, discipline, confidence, and consistent practice among students.
- Maintain punctuality, professional conduct, appropriate grooming, and adherence to child-safety guidelines.

Requirements

- 2–4 years of experience in Keyboard/Piano or Guitar teaching, music instruction, or professional music training.
- Strong knowledge of instrument techniques, music theory, rhythm, ear training, and Western music styles.
- Ability to teach beginner and intermediate-level students across different age groups.
- Willingness and ability to conduct in-person sessions at assigned locations.
- Good communication, presentation, and student-engagement skills.
- Patience, professionalism, reliability, and a student-first teaching approach.
- Ability to plan lessons and provide timely feedback and practice assignments.

Qualifications

- Certification from Trinity College London, ABRSM, Rockschool, or an equivalent recognised institution is preferred.
- Candidates with Grade 4 or above, or equivalent practical music training, will be given preference.
- Candidates without formal certification may also apply if they can demonstrate strong practical ability and relevant teaching experience.
