Job Description

About the position:

We (Kohler India Technical Center) are a captive global center providing technical and nontechnical support for all the businesses and product lines for Kohler Co. globally (including Kitchen and Bath, Hospitality).

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Engineer – Industrial Engineering with 2–6 years of experience in discrete event simulation, preferably using FlexSim. The role involves developing, validating, and optimizing simulation models for Kitchen & Bath product manufacturing processes and warehouse processes. This role requires strong technical expertise in process improvement,



resource optimization, valuable knowledge of lean manufacturing tools, ergonomics, and standard time analysis using MTM to drive end-to-end projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct time studies and work measurement using MTM-UAS tool

- Perform VA (Value-Added) and NVA (Non-Value-Added) analysis to identify process improvement opportunities

- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standardized work documentation

- Understand manufacturing process of various product lines and Develop and validate Discrete Event Simulation (DES) models for current and future manufacturing layouts using FlexSim (preferred) or equivalent tools

- Simulate and evaluate production systems to identify bottlenecks, optimize resource utilization, and enhance throughput and efficiency.

- Analyze different manufacturing scenarios and recommend the most cost-effective and efficient solutions.

- Support capacity planning, line balancing, and layout optimization for both existing and expansion projects.

- Interpret the result and present the findings as business insights and create alternate options in process to improve process output

- Participate in continuous improvement (CI) projects and Lean initiatives

- Assist in layout optimization and material flow improvements

- Lead simulation projects from concept to delivery, ensuring stakeholder alignment and timely execution





- Additional focus would also be managing multiple projects for multiple Kohler locations and executing them on time and delivering them to customers

Required Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge and exposure to IE methodologies such as Cycle Time Analysis, MTM, Ergonomics, and Value Stream Mapping to drive process improvements.

- Understanding of MTM / MOST / Work Measurement techniques

- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Waste elimination)

- 2-3 years of hands on experience using FlexSim or any other DES tool

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, basic dashboards)

- Good communication and documentation skills with the ability to interact effectively across global teams

What we are looking for from your experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering

- Experience: 2–6 years of experience in Industrial Engineering and Discrete Event Simulation (FlexSim preferred).

- Exposure to manufacturing environments (automotive, ceramics, FMCG, etc.)

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, IE fundamentals, and process improvement methodologies.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

- Exposure to Power BI, SQL, and programming languages (C++, Python, etc.) would be added benefit

Other Details:

Since the role would also include to support USA and Europe regions, the associate should have the flexibility to work in shifts that may range from 6 am-3:30pm or 3pm to 11:30 pm OR in regular India working hours. (Subject to change)
