OPD Manager (Outpatient Department Manager)

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, Nursing, or a related field.
- MBA/MHA (Hospital Administration) is preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in hospital operations, preferably in OPD management.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Outpatient Department (OPD).
- Ensure smooth patient registration, consultation, billing, and discharge processes.
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, technicians, and support departments to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor patient flow and reduce waiting time.
- Address patient concerns and ensure a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Prepare and manage OPD duty rosters and manpower allocation.
- Monitor appointment scheduling and consultant availability.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and quality protocols.
- Coordinate with departments such as Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Billing, and MRD for efficient service delivery.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly OPD reports and MIS.




- Monitor departmental KPIs and implement process improvements.
- Train and supervise OPD staff to maintain service quality.
- Handle escalations and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of patient records.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of hospital operations and patient flow management.
- Ability to handle patient grievances professionally.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Microsoft Excel, and MS Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in NABH-accredited hospitals.
- Familiarity with healthcare quality standards and hospital accreditation processes.
- Experience in OPD operations, patient services, and hospital administration.
