Soni & Soni Advocates & Attorneys, an IP law firm in Ahmedabad specializing in trademarks, copyrights, and patents, is looking for an experienced trademark professional to independently head our Opposition practice — from strategy and drafting to hearings and client communication.

This is a role for someone who wants ownership of a full function, not just assigned tasks — you will be the go-to person for every opposition matter that comes into the firm.

What You'll Be Doing

- Handling the complete lifecycle of trademark opposition and rectification matters — from initial case assessment to final disposal
- Drafting notices of opposition, counter-statements, evidence affidavits, and written submissions
- Conducting legal research and building case strategy for each matter
- Representing the firm at hearings before the Trademark Registry (in person or virtually)
- Communicating directly with clients — explaining case status, strategy, risks, and next steps in clear, non-technical language
- Tracking deadlines and ensuring timely filings across all active opposition matters
- Coordinating with junior associates or support staff on documentation and filings, as the team grows
- Keeping clients updated proactively,



without needing to be chased for status updates

What We're Looking For

- A qualified lawyer (LLB, Bar Council enrolled) with hands-on experience in trademark opposition and prosecution matters
- Prior experience independently drafting opposition-related documents
- Experience appearing at Trademark Registry hearings preferred
- Robust written English — your drafting needs to hold up on its own
- Comfortable speaking directly with clients and explaining legal matters clearly and confidently
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently, without close supervision
- 2+ years of relevant experience in trademark opposition/IP litigation support
