Job Description / Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer with 4-5 years of experience to lead the architecture of our AI and search capabilities. You will be responsible for designing resilient, low-latency systems that blend traditional database querying with advanced AI ranking logic. You will make critical architectural decisions—such as when to use exact keyword intersection versus when to deploy vector similarity search—and ensure our applications run flawlessly at scale.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

1. Search Architecture: Design and deploy enterprise-grade Retriever-Ranker pipelines. You will optimize the database layer for broad recall and engineer the Python application layer for high-precision ranking and filtering. 2. System Optimization: Identify and eliminate bottlenecks in database performance, optimizing complex JSONB queries, defeating pagination/limit traps, and managing scalable schema designs. 3. Production AI Integration: Lead the deployment of NLP, LLM, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) capabilities into live platforms, ensuring absolute reliability, low latency, and secure handling of sensitive data. 4. Security & Access Control: Architect data pipelines that strictly adhere to application-level RBAC and Row Level Security (RLS) constraints,



ensuring users only see the data they are authorized to access. 5. Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Guide junior engineers, enforce strict code quality standards, perform architectural reviews, and translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Experience & Qualification

1. 4-5 years of production engineering experience, with a heavy focus on backend architecture, search systems, or applied AI. 2. Expert-level Python: Deep expertise in building high-performance, asynchronous backend services (FastAPI preferred). 3. Advanced PostgreSQL: You know how to optimize complex databases, utilize advanced indexing, manage unstructured data arrays, and understand the trade-offs of extensions like pgvector. 4. Applied AI Architecture: Proven track record of shipping AI features to production. You deeply understand semantic search, embedding models, custom scoring algorithms, and the limitations of LLMs. 5. System Design: Experience architecting resilient systems, handling third-party API rate limits, designing secure authentication flows, and bridging the gap between backends and up-to-date frontend frameworks.

Salary range

40,000 to 80,000 per month
