Responsibilities and key tasks Hand washing should be done before entering the unit Greet the patient and relatives To effectively interface with patients Anesthetist Surgeons other service users with high level of responsiveness To be well versed with all surgical procedures equipment used in O T Pre-Post-operative management of patients in O T Co-operate co-ordinate with OT staff to ensure effective efficient patient care delivery To ensure proper Co-ordination with other disciplines in case of shifting transfer to wards ICU s Ensure noise and movements within the theatre are kept at minimum To ensure the disinfection fogging process is followed as per the protocol All nursing staff to be thorough with gowning gloving procedure Ensure change rooms are clean with enough supply of scrubs caps masks for the day To follow infection control policies of the hospital To ensure accurate Inventory Stock Management To ensure the consumables sutures are available on time To ensure timely indenting frequently checking the requirements of the surgeons Through surgical hand wash to be carried out by all working inside the OT Circulating nurse to be responsible for checking all sponge counts instruments working of all biomedical equipments Time in and time out to be maintained by the circulating nurse Scrub nurse to assist the surgeon for the operative procedure Histopathology sample if any need to be dispatch timely with proper labeling and entering in HIS by circulatory nurse Before closing the incision a through count of all instruments and sponges to be done and documented Liaise with CSSD in advance for the booked cases for the following day Circulating nurse to be responsible for preparation of next surgery Monitoring and close observation of patient in the recovery room and follow pain management protocol To have complete orientation of QMS and EMS system of Hospital To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme DMP of the hospital To comply with the service quality Process environmental occupational issues policies of the respective area To ensure the entries in HIS and billing activity will be completed correctly and accurately To maintain patient records as per hospital standards ensuring safety and confidentiality of records To comply with patient safety policy To ensure protected utilization of equipment s and proper waste disposal system
