- Decontamination & Cleaning: Collecting used instruments, cleaning, and disinfecting them.
- Sterilization: Operating and monitoring sterilization equipment (like autoclaves) to eliminate all microbial life.
- Assembly & Packaging: Inspecting, assembling, and packaging instruments into sterile sets.
- Inventory Management: Maintaining stock, tracking supplies, and ensuring timely restocking for all departments.
- Quality Control: Performing routine checks and recording sterilization processes to meet standards.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering to strict health, safety, and infection control guidelines, including handling biohazardous materials.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge: Understanding of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization techniques.
- Skills: Attention to detail, organization, ability to follow instructions,



and effective communication.
- Physical: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and push for extended periods.
- Certifications (Often Preferred): Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent.

- Works in hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics.
