Zonal Manager Last Mile Operations

Location: South India

About the Role

We are looking for a Manager Last Mile Operations who will be responsible for managing and optimizing last mile deliveries across JOIN’s dark store network across India. The role will focus on ensuring efficient deliveries, cost optimization, SLA adherence, and solid operational execution across multiple delivery partners, courier aggregators, and internal logistics teams.

This role will play a key part in driving delivery excellence, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction through strong operational governance, MIS tracking, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Last Mile Operations Management

- Manage end-to-end last mile delivery operations across all dark store locations in India.
- Ensure smooth coordination between dark stores, courier partners, and delivery networks.
- Drive efficient dispatch, routing, and delivery execution to maintain high service levels.

1. Cost Optimization

- Monitor and optimize Cost per Delivery (CPD) across all regions.
- Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs through route optimization, vendor negotiations, and operational improvements.
- Track cost metrics and provide monthly cost optimization reports and action plans.

1. SLA & TAT Management

- Ensure adherence to delivery SLAs and promised TATs across all locations.
- Track On-Time Delivery (OTD), NDR, RTO, and delay metrics.
- Implement operational improvements to reduce delivery failures and delays.

1. MIS, Analytics & Reporting

- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly MIS dashboards for last mile performance.
- Track key logistics metrics including:
- Cost per Delivery
- On-time delivery %
- TAT performance
- NDR & RTO rates
- Vendor performance
- Provide data-driven insights to leadership for operational improvements.

1. Vendor & Partner Management





- Manage relationships with courier partners, hyperlocal delivery partners, and aggregator platforms.
- Work closely with platforms such as ClickPost, Locus, and other logistics technology partners.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure SLA compliance and operational efficiency.

1. Dark Store Delivery Governance

- Work closely with dark store operations teams to ensure efficient dispatch and handover.
- Ensure processes are followed for order readiness, packaging, and dispatch timelines.

1. Peak Planning & Capacity Management

- Plan logistics capacity for high-volume occasions such as Valentine’s Day, Rakhi, Diwali, and peak campaigns.
- Ensure sufficient delivery capacity and contingency planning.

1. Process Improvement

- Identify operational gaps and implement standardized SOPs for last mile operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery experience, operational efficiency, and scalability.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in last mile logistics / e-commerce operations / quick commerce
- Experience managing PAN India delivery operations
- Strong exposure to dark store or warehouse-based dispatch models
- Experience working with courier aggregators and delivery platforms
- Strong analytical and MIS reporting skills
- Experience managing vendors and delivery partners
- Ability to manage large-scale logistics operations during peak periods
