Company Description National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) is an apex technical assistance body established in 2006 under the National Rural Health Mission of the Government of India. It supports the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and state governments in developing health policies, strategies, and capacity-building initiatives.

NHSRC aims to improve health outcomes through governance reform, health systems innovation, and better information sharing across national, state, district, and sub-district levels. The organization operates through seven specialized divisions, including Community Processes, Healthcare Financing, Healthcare Technology, Human Resources for Health, Public Health Administration, Knowledge Management, and Quality Improvement in Healthcare, and has a branch office serving the north-east region. Its work agenda and budget are overseen by a diverse Governing Body composed of senior health administrators and public health experts.

Role Description The Writer role at NHSRC is a full time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The Writer will draft, edit, and refine reports, policy briefs, case studies, and knowledge products that support health systems strengthening and capacity-building initiatives.

Daily responsibilities include conducting secondary research, reviewing technical documents, ensuring clarity and consistency of language, and adapting complex public health information into accessible formats for diverse stakeholders. The role involves close collaboration with technical divisions,



attending internal meetings, and aligning written outputs with organizational standards and government guidelines. The Writer will also help develop communication materials, such as newsletters, web content, and presentations, to support dissemination and advocacy efforts.

Qualifications

- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate technical and policy-related content into clear, concise, and reader-friendly documents.
- Research and analytical skills, including the ability to review literature, synthesize information from multiple sources, and present evidence-based insights.
- Experience in preparing reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products for government agencies, public health institutions, or development organizations.
- Familiarity with public health, health systems, or social sector topics, and an interest in health policy and governance in India.
- Excellent command of English; proficiency in Hindi or other Indian languages will be an added advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and engage with technical experts and administrators.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Social Sciences, Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field; relevant work experience in writing or communication within the health or social sector is highly desirable.
