Job Title: Workday Integration Developer - Workday & Smartsheet Integration

Location: Remote

Duration: Long-Term Contract / Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Developer with hands-on expertise in Workday Studio, Workday Integration Cloud, and Smartsheet integrations . The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain integrations that automate the flow of job descriptions, position data, requisitions, and hiring information between Workday and Smartsheet.

This role will focus on eliminating manual processes by synchronizing approved requisitions, HR templates, and position data into Smartsheet project trackers, ensuring seamless collaboration between HR, Talent Acquisition, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have robust knowledge of Workday integration technologies, APIs, XML/XSLT transformations, security, and enterprise integration best practices.

Key Responsibilities

1. Workday Integration Development

- Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations using:
- Workday Studio
- Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)
- Core Connectors
- Cloud Connect
- Workday Integration Cloud
- Build inbound and outbound integrations supporting HR, Recruiting, and Position Management.
- Develop scalable and reusable integration solutions following Workday best practices.

2. Smartsheet Integration

- Design and implement integrations between Workday and Smartsheet .
- Automate synchronization of:
- Job Descriptions
- Position Data
- Job Requisitions
- Hiring Status
- Approval Workflows
- Utilize Smartsheet REST APIs and webhooks for data exchange.
- Ensure project trackers remain synchronized with Workday updates.

3. API & Data Integration

- Develop REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Build secure data exchange mechanisms between Workday and external applications.




- Implement data transformations using:
- XML
- XSLT
- JSON
- Develop middleware integrations where required.

4. Business Process Automation

- Automate HR and Talent Acquisition workflows.
- Reduce manual effort by creating event-driven integrations.
- Support recruiting lifecycle integrations from requisition creation through hiring.

5. Data Validation & Error Handling

- Implement logging, monitoring, and exception handling.
- Troubleshoot integration failures and perform root cause analysis.
- Ensure data integrity across integrated systems.

6. Security & Compliance

- Configure Workday Integration Security.
- Ensure integrations comply with organizational security standards.
- Manage authentication using OAuth, API Keys, and Workday security groups.

7. Testing & Deployment

- Perform unit, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
- Support deployment through Workday migration tools.
- Create technical documentation and deployment guides.

8. Collaboration

- Work closely with:
- HR Teams
- Talent Acquisition
- Workday Functional Consultants
- Business Analysts
- Project Managers
- Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical integration solutions.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of Workday Integration development experience.
- 2+ years integrating Workday with Smartsheet or similar project management platforms.
- Strong understanding of HR and Recruiting business processes.
- Experience developing enterprise-level API integrations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Workday Integration Certification.
- Experience with Workday Recruiting and Talent Management.
- Experience integrating with ServiceNow, Jira, Salesforce, or Microsoft 365.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD and source control tools (Git, Azure DevOps).
