Electrician Job Description

Job Title: Electrician

Job Summary:

An Electrician installs, maintains, repairs, and tests electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. They ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, outlets, switches, and circuit breakers.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.

Inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs.

Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and repair faulty components.

Test electrical systems using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.

Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.

Install and connect lighting systems, control panels, generators, and other electrical devices.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Communicate with customers, contractors, and team members regarding project progress and safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or vocational training program.





Valid electrician license or certification (as required by local regulations).

Solid knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety procedures.

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and in confined spaces.

Knowledge of renewable energy systems or smart home technologies (preferred but not always required).

Working Conditions

Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

May work evenings, weekends, or on-call for emergency repairs.

Must follow strict safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Reporting to Admin Manager.
