Architect I – SAP ABAP (S/4HANA | OData | CDS | IDOC)

Job Summary

The Architect I – SAP ABAP is responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of enterprise SAP solutions using SAP ABAP on HANA, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The role combines architecture leadership with hands-on technical expertise to deliver scalable, high-performance SAP applications, integrations, and innovation initiatives leveraging modern SAP technologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end SAP technical solution delivery across development, enhancements, integrations, and production support.
- Design and develop enterprise applications using SAP ABAP on HANA and SAP S/4HANA.
- Drive SAP technical architecture, code quality, and development best practices.
- Design and implement scalable integrations using IDOCs, APIs, Web Services (REST/SOAP), and middleware platforms.
- Develop and optimize CDS Views, OData Services, and AMDP objects for SAP HANA.
- Build and enhance SAP UI5/Fiori applications.
- Develop enhancements using BADIs, Enhancement Framework, Enhancement Switch Framework, and OOPS ABAP.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, functional consultants, business stakeholders, and customer technical teams.
- Lead technical design reviews, estimations, code reviews, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Drive SAP BTP-based innovation, cloud extensions, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, performance optimization, and Agile delivery practices.

Must Have Skills

- 10+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP on HANA and SAP S/4HANA.
- Extensive experience with:
- Core ABAP
- OOPS ABAP
- ABAP on HANA
- SAP NetWeaver

- Hands-on experience with:

- SAP UI5/Fiori
- IDOCs
- Interfaces
- BADIs & Enhancement Framework
- Enhancement Switch Framework

- Strong expertise in SAP HANA development including:

- CDS Views




- OData Services
- AMDP
- Code-to-Data optimization

- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP).
- Solid knowledge of REST/SOAP APIs, Web Services, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience leading multiple end-to-end SAP implementation or S/4HANA transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of SAP business processes including Order Management, Subscription Billing, and Usage-Based Billing.
- Functional knowledge of SAP MM, SD, and FI/CO modules.
- Strong architecture, technical leadership, debugging, and performance tuning skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.

Good to Have Skills

- Experience with SAP BRIM.
- Knowledge of SAP Hybris / SAP Commerce.
- Experience with SAP RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
- Exposure to SAP AI, Generative AI, SAP Joule, or AI services on SAP BTP.
- Experience with SAP BTP Extension Suite and cloud-native application development.
- Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and automation in SAP landscapes.
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite, CPI, or middleware platforms.
- SAP certifications in SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, ABAP on HANA, or SAP Fiori are preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
