We are hiring QS Engineer for Elephantine Enterprises Private Limited located at Adyar, Chennai

Job Description

Responsible for managing all project costs from inception to completion. The role ensures that construction projects are completed within the approved budget while maintaining quality and contractual compliance. The QS prepares estimates, manages BOQs, certifies contractor bills, evaluates variations, and supports procurement and cost control activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesCost Estimation & Budgeting

- Prepare preliminary cost estimates for new projects.
- Develop detailed cost plans based on drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and review project budgets.
- Analyze project costs and recommend cost-saving measures.

Quantity Take-Off & BOQ

- Prepare quantity take-offs from architectural and structural drawings.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Verify quantities submitted by contractors.
- Update BOQs based on design revisions.

Tendering & Procurement

- Prepare tender documents and BOQs.
- Invite quotations from contractors and vendors.
- Evaluate commercial bids.
- Assist in contractor and supplier selection.
- Negotiate rates and finalize work orders.

Billing & Payment Certification

- Verify contractor RA (Running Account)



Bills.
- Measure executed work at the site.
- Certify contractor bills as per actual work completed.
- Process final bills after project completion.

Cost Control

- Monitor project expenditure against budget.
- Prepare monthly cost reports.
- Track cost variances.
- Recommend corrective actions for cost overruns.
- Maintain project cost records.

Contract Management

- Review contracts and commercial terms.
- Monitor contract compliance.
- Evaluate variation orders and additional work claims.
- Maintain contract documentation.

Coordination

- Coordinate with Architects, Structural Consultants, Site Engineers, Procurement, Finance, and Contractors.
- Participate in project review meetings.
- Resolve quantity and billing-related issues.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain BOQs, estimates, bills, contracts, and measurement records.
- Prepare MIS reports.
- Submit weekly and monthly cost reports to management.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
