About the department:

Our Business Tax team is geared to help clients effectively handle their business tax compliance and advisory needs. With our rich experience in the history and progress of Indian tax law and administration, we help clients build stable and sustainable tax strategies that combine technical, practical, and commercial aspects. The department provides services like - Preparation and review of Individual and Corporate Tax Returns, Revenue Audits and Litigation, Tax Health Checks, Withholding Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory Services, Certification Services, Departmental Interactions, and Other Direct Tax Compliances.

Role Description

Manage Nexdigm's end to end deliverable needs from junior to leadership level along with department level projects

Key Result Areas:

1. Operational Compliance & Advisory

- Preparation, review and filing of income tax returns for corporate clients both Indian as well as foreign

- Preparation (on exceptional basis) and review of monthly TDS working and quarterly TDS returns, quarterly advance tax working, SFT return, etc

- Handling of dividend assignment from end-to-end

- Providing advisory on withholding tax implications and applicable tax rates on various foreign remittances (Form 15CB issuance)





- Providing international tax advisory on matters like POEM (Place of Effective Management), PE (Permanent Establishment) risk exposure, etc.

- Handling corporate tax litigation including preparation of appeals, preparation of detailed submissions, research on legal issues up to the Tribunal level, etc.

- Handling departmental interactions including Filing rectification and refund applications, Order-giving effects, Stay applications, etc.

- Assisting partner in achieving their revenue target

2. Team Management

- Training and grooming of team members for effective ground-level execution

- Speaker at internal training sessions

- Preparation of tax alerts on key direct tax updates and amendments

3. Business Development & Client Relationship Management

- Preparation of proposals/presentations for prospective clients

- Participating in meetings with key clients

- Building client relationship and becoming single point of contact for the client

4. Practice Management

- Ensuring timely billing of the clients on monthly basis

- Ensuring collections and follow-ups with clients for outstanding dues

- Assistance in preparation of Monthly MIS reports

Required Competencies, Skills, and Experience

Qualified Chartered Accountant with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax,

Valuable writing and oral communication skills

Knowledge of basic IT applications like MS Office, Tally, Winman, etc.,

Ability to read and interpret various tax treaties,

Experience in handling litigation matters,

Experience in handling team

Experience in handling international tax advisory matters like POEM, PE risk exposure, etc.
