Warehouse Manager- Chemical Manufacturing

Industry: Chemical Manufacturing

Location: Gujarat

Experience: 10+

Qualification: Graduate / Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Chemistry, or relevant field

Job Purpose To manage end-to-end logistics and warehouse operations for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods, ensuring safe handling, statutory compliance, inventory accuracy, and timely dispatch in line with chemical industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

- Supervise receipt, storage, handling, and issuance of raw materials, packing materials, and finished goods.
- Plan and manage dispatch schedules in coordination with production
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations
- Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization
- Lead and manage warehouse manpower and productivity
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, logistics)
- Maintain ERP/SAP entries, documentation, and MIS reports
- Drive cost efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure proper segregation and storage as per MSDS, compatibility, and safety norms.
- Maintain FIFO / FEFO practices and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor warehouse housekeeping and ensure compliance with 5S and safety standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for material sampling, quarantine, and release.

Logistics & Dispatch

- Plan and execute dispatches as per production and sales schedules.
- Coordinate with transporters for inbound and outbound logistics.
- Ensure availability of approved vehicles suitable for chemical transportation.
- Monitor freight costs and optimize logistics efficiency.




- Track shipments and ensure on-time deliveries.

Documentation & Compliance

- Prepare and verify dispatch documents: Invoice, E-way Bill, Delivery Challan, COA, MSDS, etc.
- Ensure compliance with DG, Hazardous Chemicals Rules, Factory Act, and local statutory norms.
- Maintain records for inward, outward, stock movement, and transporter documentation.
- Support internal and external audits related to logistics and warehouse operations.

Inventory Management

- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile with system stock.
- Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and near-expiry materials.
- Coordinate with Production and Purchase for inventory planning and control.

Safety & EHS

- Ensure safe loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals.
- Enforce use of PPE and adherence to EHS guidelines.
- Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.

Coordination & Reporting

- Coordinate with Production, Purchase, QA, Sales, and Finance teams.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly logistics and inventory reports.
- Supervise warehouse staff, loaders, and contract manpower.

Key Skills & Competencies

- Robust knowledge of chemical warehouse & logistics safety norms
- Inventory control and documentation skills
- Transporter and vendor coordination
- ERP/SAP/WMS knowledge preferred
- Good communication and team management skills
- Awareness of statutory and compliance requirements

Preferred Experience

- Experience in chemical / pharma / specialty chemicals manufacturing
- Exposure to hazardous material handling and regulatory compliance
- Experience in plant-based warehouse operations
