Job Summary
The AOCP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining chemical plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production. The role involves following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and maintaining product quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate chemical plant equipment such as pumps, valves, reactors, tanks, compressors, and pipelines.
- Monitor process parameters including temperature, pressure, flow, and level, and report abnormalities.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and identify operational issues.
- Start up and shut down equipment as per approved procedures.
- Collect process samples and assist in quality checks.
- Maintain production logs, shift records, and equipment checklists.
- Follow SOPs, Work Instructions, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), where applicable.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain a clean work area.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Respond appropriately to process deviations and emergency situations.
- Assist maintenance personnel during preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and safety.
Required Qualifications
- ITI in Attendant Operator Chemical Plant (AOCP) from a recognized institute.
- Freshers or candidates with 0–3 years of experience in a chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing plant.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of chemical plant operations.
- Understanding of industrial safety practices and PPE requirements.
- Ability to read gauges, meters, and process indicators.
- Basic knowledge of pumps, valves, pipelines, and process equipment.
- Positive communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of SOPs, Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and emergency response procedures.
- Familiarity with DCS/PLC-based plant operations is an advantage.
- Basic computer knowledge for maintaining operational records.
Working Conditions
- Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Exposure to industrial environments, chemicals, noise, and outdoor conditions.
- Must be physically fit to climb ladders, work at heights, and handle operational activities safely.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Safe plant operation with zero safety violations.
- Production targets achieved as per plan.
- Compliance with SOPs and HSE requirements.
- Equipment uptime and operational reliability.
- Accurate documentation and reporting.
- Good housekeeping and workplace discipline.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per hour
