Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (MSSQL + Azure SQL / PostgreSQL)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise database infrastructure. In this role, your primary responsibility will be managing our Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) environments. Additionally, you will play a critical role in managing and scaling our cloud or open-source infrastructure using (Azure SQL Database OR PostgreSQL].

The ideal candidate ensures high availability, data integrity, and optimal database performance across all production and non-production environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesCore MSSQL Administration

- Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and migrate MSSQL Server instances across enterprise environments.
- High Availability: Implement and maintain AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), log shipping, and replication.
- Performance Tuning: Monitor system health, optimize complex T-SQL queries, refine indexing strategies, and resolve CPU/memory bottlenecks.
- Backup & Recovery: Establish and test robust disaster recovery (DR) protocols and backup automation strategies.
- Security & Compliance: Enforce database security policies, manage data encryption (TDE), manage user permissions, and ensure regulatory compliance.





[Option A] Azure SQL DBA Responsibilities

- Cloud Operations: Manage Azure SQL Database single databases, Elastic Pools, and Azure SQL Managed Instances.
- Migration: Lead seamless database migrations from on-premises MSSQL workloads to Azure Cloud infrastructure.
- Cost & Scalability: Monitor cloud usage, optimize storage tiers, and estimate azure resource costs.
- Cloud HADR: Configure geo-replication, auto-failover groups, and cloud-native backup architectures.

[Option B] PostgreSQL DBA Responsibilities

- Workplace Management: Administer, monitor, and configure PostgreSQL instances in self-hosted or cloud environments.
- Performance & Tuning: Optimize vacuuming processes, analyze slow queries, and configure postgresql.conf parameters.
- High Availability: Set up and manage PostgreSQL replication architectures (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication).
- Tools: Utilize database utilities like pg_dump, pg_restore, pgAdmin, or pgBadger for daily maintenance.
