Summary

We are looking for an experienced Firewall & Web Application Firewall (WAF) L3 Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in network security, firewall administration, WAF management, security policy design, troubleshooting, and incident response.

This role involves managing enterprise security infrastructure, handling complex escalations, implementing security controls, and ensuring the protection of business-critical applications and network environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage, administer, and support enterprise firewall and WAF environments.
- Design, implement, and review firewall security policies and rule sets.
- Perform L3 troubleshooting for complex firewall and WAF incidents.
- Configure and maintain WAF policies to protect web applications from cyber threats.
- Monitor security events and respond to network security incidents.
- Conduct firewall rule reviews, optimization, and clean-up activities.
- Analyze security logs and investigate suspicious activities.
- Support security projects, migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, and security teams.




- Ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and architecture diagrams.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1 and L2 engineers.
- Participate in change management, risk assessments, and security reviews.

Required Skills

- 9 to 15 years of overall IT experience with significant experience in Network Security.
- Robust hands-on experience managing enterprise Firewall solutions.
- Experience with one or more firewall technologies:

- Palo Alto Networks

- Check Point

- Fortinet

- Cisco Firepower / ASA

- Juniper SRX
- Solid experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions such as:
- F5 ASM / Advanced WAF

- Akamai WAF

- Imperva WAF

- Cloudflare WAF

- Azure WAF

- AWS WAF
- Good understanding of network security concepts including:

- TCP/IP
- Routing & Switching

- NAT

- VPN

- IPS/IDS

- SSL Inspection
- Experience in firewall policy management and security hardening.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
