Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Cost/Credit control Executive to manage and monitor collect, analyze and report credit exposure, tracking variances and making journal entries across our B2B customer portfolio across India. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes. This role is essential for supporting business growth while maintaining solid cash flows, disciplined working capital cycles, and minimizing credit risk.

Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Portfolio Management
- Act as the Credit Officer/Cost controller for B2B jewellery customers and the primary point of contact for Sales and Operations.
- Assign internal credit ratings and recommend credit limits for new and existing customers.
- Evaluate financial statements, cash flows, working capital cycles, and payment behaviour.
- Structure and review customer payment terms, security arrangements, and credit documentation.
- Approve orders against credit limits and recommend enhancements where required.
Monitoring & Risk Controls
- Track outstanding dues, ageing, overdue trends, and early warning signals.
- Analyse customer-level risks linked to inventory valuation, demand seasonality, regional trends, and festival cycles.
- Monitor commodity exposure and assess the impact on customer repayment capacity.
- Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and risk appetite frameworks.
- Develop strategies to reduce costs and study product pricing to ensure the best possible return on investment for the company.
- Prepare budgeting reports by collecting information and data points from various departments.
- Investigate discrepancies in financial records and perform month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Conduct regular audits, interpret rules related to accounting practices and ensure compliance with the standard regulations in India.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Legal teams to balance growth with disciplined risk management.
- Participate in customer meetings to understand business models, repayment capacity, and expansion plans.
- Communicate credit decisions clearly with rationale backed by financial and business analysis.
Process & Reporting
- Maintain updated credit files, documentation, and risk commentary.
- Generate credit MIS: outstanding exposure summaries, ageing analysis, risk flags.
- Continuously refine credit models, cost control criteria, and customer grading methodologies.
- Analyze cost variations and support cost control initiatives
- Conduct cost audits and coordinate with auditors for compliance activities
- Monitor material, labour, and manufacturing expenses to improve cost efficiency
- Support standard costing, budgeting, and profitability analysis
- Generate credit MIS:
outstanding exposure summaries, ageing analysis, risk flags and cost reports for management review
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Support periodic portfolio reviews with CFO and senior management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelors/Masters in Finance, Commerce, Business, Economics, or related fields.
- CA-Inter,CFA Level 1, or other credit-related certifications preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of credit risk fundamentals:
- Financial statement analysis
- Debt serviceability
- Working capital assessment
- Collateral/security valuation
- Understanding of trade credit, inventory financing, and retail supply chains.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling proficiency.
- ERP exposure and comfort with digital reporting tools.
- Proficiency in accounting software like Tally, QuickBooks or Wings.
Industry Knowledge
- Experience in jewellery, luxury goods, textiles, FMCG, or B2B manufacturing preferred.
- Understanding of precious metals markets, festival-driven demand cycles, and the jewellery retail ecosystem is a plus.

Preferred Experience
- 3-6 years of experience in the accountancy field or an equivalent role like credit analysis, trade finance, banking, or risk management.
- Experience in NBFC/bank underwriting, B2B manufacturing, or luxury goods sectors.
- Exposure to consignment arrangements and inventory-backed credit structures.
