Position Purpose

The Lead Scale-up & Basic Engineering-Commercial site is responsible for driving feasibility studies, scale up studies to ensure smooth transfer of products from lab scale to commercial scale at ISAGRO site. The role will also be responsible for planning and resource allocation for accommodating various new molecules in existing set-up and implementation of new molecule production with a close co-ordination between Production & Project teams.

Strategic Responsibilities

- Conduct feasibility studies for fitment of targeted molecules in ISAGRO site
- Co-ordinate with concern peer group from R&D;, TT and TS to gather all information for ensuring proper fitment of molecules in ISAGRO site.
- Ensure smooth commercialization of targeted molecules in ISAGRO site by getting required information from TS and TT team regarding scale up studies leading to a successful process handover at commercial scale
- Ensure execution of process projects and Engineering Optimization activities
- Maintain awareness of industry and technology trends to ensure that PI is current in development efforts to supply new and innovative offerings
- Implement new systems & processes to enhance work efficiency
- Drive value engineering initiatives to reduce project cost and execution time.
- Drive demo-commissioning post scale-up validation in KL/PP, to ensure successful transfer to commercial scale





Operational Responsibilities

Responsible for successfully driving key operational & financial activities like:

- Conduct feasibility analysis for new enquiry proposals
- Provide process engineering support to the Production department
- Ensure quality, yield and productivity before transferring the process to production
- Conduct analysis of different parameters for process improvements
- Ensure timely release of SOP and other documents for new products
- Drive the development of the Basic Engineering Package (BEP)
- Ensure smooth hand over of process to operations team
- Develop KPIs to measure the performance of scale up Team to ensure high productivity among subordinate
- Ensure desired quality and productivity of current molecules as per business plan
- Maintain scale up budgets and ensure adherence to the budget
- Ensure the desire quality and productivity of new molecules as per business plan
- Ensure achievement of cost saving initiatives to achieve targeted savings in time frame
- Evaluate the requirement of new items once planning team provide fitment details for any new or existing molecule

- Recommend initiatives for building requisite skills & competencies through focused professional development and capability building initiatives for the Scale-up & Basic Engineering team
- Review workforce capacity gaps within the Scale-up & Basic Engineering team and ensure timely recruitment in alignment with Corporate HR policies
- Actively sponsor, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, the performance management process of the team

Education Qualification

M.Tech – Chemical Engineering from Institutes of repute like IIT/NIT

Work Experience

15-20 years of scale up experience
