Role Description This is an unpaid, remote internship role for a Video Editor Intern at Contender Media. The intern will assist in converting long-form content into engaging short-form videos by clipping, editing, and optimizing footage for multiple social platforms.

Day-to-day tasks include organizing raw assets, assembling rough and final cuts, applying basic color correction, adding simple motion graphics or text overlays, and ensuring content aligns with brand guidelines and retention goals.



The intern will collaborate with the team to adapt videos for different platforms, contribute creative ideas for hooks and visual storytelling, and meet deadlines within a structured workflow. This role is designed to offer practical experience in a real production environment, with feedback and guidance to help develop qualified editing skills.

Qualifications

- Foundational skills in Video Production and understanding of the end-to-end workflow from raw footage to final output.
- Proficiency in Video Editing using common editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Basic ability in Video Color Grading to adjust exposure, contrast, and color for platform-ready content.
- Introductory skills in Motion Graphics and Graphics for captions, titles, lower-thirds, and simple visual elements.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Interest in short-form content for social media and familiarity with platforms such as Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
- Good communication skills and openness to feedback and iterative revisions.
- Current student or recent graduate in film, media, communication, or a related field is preferred but not required.
