Job Title: General Surgeon

Reports to: Medical Director

Location: Ernakulam

Job Summary

The General Surgeon is responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care, including diagnosis, operative procedures, and post-operative management for patients. The role involves performing elective and emergency surgeries while ensuring high standards of patient safety, ethics, and quality of care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

- Diagnose and manage surgical conditions requiring operative intervention.
- Perform general surgical procedures such as:
- Appendectomy
- Hernia repair
- Gall bladder surgery
- Breast surgery (benign conditions)
- Minor and major general surgeries
- Provide pre-operative assessment and post-operative care.
- Handle surgical emergencies and trauma cases as per hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper documentation in patient medical records.

Administrative & Academic Responsibilities

- Maintain surgical statistics and outcome data.




- Participate in departmental meetings and case discussions.
- Contribute to teaching and mentoring junior doctors (if applicable).
- Support hospital policies and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

- MBBS from a recognized medical college
- MS / DNB in General Surgery
- Valid Medical Council / State Medical Council registration
- 0–5 years (or as per hospital requirement)
- Freshers with MS/DNB may also apply (if applicable)
