Valuation Manager Lead end-to-end valuation engagements for businesses, equity interests, shares, tangible assets, and intangible assets across multiple industries. Perform valuations for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, shareholder restructuring, disputes and litigation, taxation, regulatory requirements, strategic decision-making, and transaction support. Apply appropriate valuation methodologies, including: Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) Comparable Companies Analysis / Trading Multiples Precedent Transactions Analysis Net Asset Value (NAV) Income Approach Market Approach Cost Approach Develop, review, and challenge complex valuation models, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and consistency of assumptions.
Analyse historical financial statements, management accounts, budgets, forecasts, business plans, and operational performance. Assess and validate key valuation assumptions, including discount rates, terminal growth rates, WACC, beta, risk premiums, capital structures, and market multiples. Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and risk analyses to evaluate the impact of key assumptions on valuation conclusions.
Prepare and review comprehensive valuation reports, technical memoranda, presentations, and supporting documentation. Lead or support Purchase Price Allocation (PPA), goodwill and asset impairment testing, intangible asset valuations, fairness opinions, independent expert assignments, and financial reporting valuations. Ensure valuation assignments are performed in accordance with applicable International Valuation Standards (IVS), IFRS, IAS, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Financial
Analysis and Market Research Conduct detailed financial, market, industry, competitor, and economic research to support valuation conclusions. Analyse comparable listed companies, precedent transactions, sector benchmarks, macroeconomic conditions, and industry trends. Assess business models, competitive positioning, revenue drivers, profitability, operational performance, and growth potential.
Translate financial and commercial findings into robust and defensible valuation assumptions. Evaluate management forecasts and business plans for reasonableness and consistency with historical performance and market expectations. Coordinate with audit, tax, legal, transaction advisory, and industry specialists where required.
Project and Client Management Lead multiple complex valuation engagements simultaneously from proposal stage through final delivery. Define engagement scope, methodologies, timelines, deliverables, resource requirements, and budgets. Act as the primary relationship manager for clients and senior stakeholders throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Engage directly with senior management, CFOs, boards, investors, auditors, legal advisors, private equity firms, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Present valuation methodologies, assumptions, findings, and conclusions to senior client stakeholders.
Lead discussions with auditors and other external stakeholders on valuation methodologies and technical assumptions.
Identify and resolve complex technical, commercial, and engagement-related matters. Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timelines, scope, budgets, and quality standards. Maintain comprehensive engagement documentation, working papers, review files, and supporting evidence.
Business
Development and Commercial Growth Drive business development initiatives across business valuation, financial reporting valuation, transaction support, restructuring, dispute advisory, and related services. Identify new clients, sectors, and opportunities for expanding the valuation practice. Lead the preparation of proposals, credentials, engagement letters, scope documents, presentations, and fee quotations.
Participate in client pitches, networking events, conferences, industry forums, and relationship-building initiatives. Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, private equity firms, investment funds, financial institutions, family offices, law firms, government entities, and other stakeholders. Leverage existing professional networks to generate new opportunities and strengthen client relationships.
Identify cross-selling opportunities across Andersen's advisory, tax, transaction, and consulting services. Contribute to the valuation practice's revenue targets, pipeline development, and overall growth strategy. Support the development of thought leadership, technical publications, market insights, and sector-specific valuation offerings.
Team Leadership and Development Lead, supervise, and review the work of Managers, Assistant Managers, Associates, and Analysts. Provide technical guidance on valuation methodologies, financial modelling, financial analysis, research, and report preparation. Review financial models, valuation calculations, assumptions, market research, and final deliverables for technical accuracy and consistency.
Manage resource allocation across multiple concurrent engagements. Coach and mentor team members through structured feedback, technical training, and on-the-job development. Support performance management and career development of junior and mid-level professionals.
Promote a collaborative, commercially focused, accountable, and high-performance culture within the valuation team. Quality, Risk and Compliance Ensure engagements comply with Andersen's quality, independence, confidentiality, professional, and risk-management requirements. Review valuation methodologies, assumptions, calculations, reports, and supporting documentation before final issuance.
Ensure all valuation conclusions are technically sound,
commercially reasonable, and supported by appropriate market evidence. Identify potential engagement risks, conflicts of interest, independence considerations, and technical issues at an early stage. Maintain appropriate documentation supporting valuation assumptions, analyses, methodologies, and conclusions.
Stay current with developments in valuation standards, IFRS, accounting requirements, financial markets, regulatory developments, and industry practices.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Master's degree, MBA, or postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred. Skilled qualification such as CFA, CA, ACCA, CPA, ASA, CBV, RICS, or an equivalent recognised qualification is strongly preferred. Additional certification in Business Valuation, Financial Modelling, or Corporate Finance will be an advantage.
Experience Approximately 8-10 years of relevant professional experience in business valuation, financial modelling, transaction advisory, corporate finance, financial reporting valuation, or related advisory services. Strong prior experience within a Big Four firm is highly preferred, ideally within Valuation, Deals, Strategy & Transactions, Transaction Advisory, Corporate Finance, or a similar practice. Candidates currently working at Senior Manager level within a Big Four or leading international advisory firm will be preferred.
Robust track record of independently leading complex business valuation and financial reporting engagements. Demonstrated experience in DCF modelling, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, PPA, impairment testing, and intangible asset valuation. Proven experience managing senior client relationships and presenting valuation conclusions to CFOs, boards, investors, auditors, and other senior stakeholders.
Strong experience in proposal development, business development, client acquisition, and revenue generation. Demonstrated experience managing, reviewing, and developing high-performing skilled teams. Previous exposure to the UAE or wider GCC market is preferred.
