Job Summary

The Metallurgist is responsible for supporting production by ensuring metallurgical process control, heat treatment quality, material compliance, and continuous process improvement. The role involves close coordination with Production, Quality, and Heat Treatment teams to achieve consistent product quality, improved productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor metallurgical aspects of production and heat treatment processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Perform hardness testing, microstructure evaluation, and metallurgical inspections as per quality requirements.
- Investigate production and quality issues related to material properties and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Support process optimization to improve product quality, productivity, and material performance.
- Verify raw material and finished product compliance with customer and engineering specifications.
- Maintain metallurgical test records, reports, and process documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve process-related issues.
- Participate in recent product development,



trials, continuous improvement, Kaizen, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and company safety procedures.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of ferrous metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and material testing.
- Hands-on experience in hardness testing, microstructure analysis, and metallurgical laboratory practices.
- Understanding of engineering drawings, material specifications, and quality standards.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report preparation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Industry

Automotive Components, Heat Treatment, Leaf Spring Manufacturing, Forging, Steel Processing, or Engineering Manufacturing.
