We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer – MEP to join our team. The ideal candidate should possess strong quantity take-off, estimation, cost control, billing, and contract administration skills for MEP projects.
Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor (QS) Engineer – MEP will be responsible for preparing quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost estimates, client billing, subcontractor billing, variation claims, and project cost monitoring. The candidate will work closely with project managers, design engineers, procurement teams, and clients to ensure commercial success throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm, HVAC, ELV, and Utility services.
- Review tender documents, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing for tenders.
- Analyze quotations received from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit client invoices and payment applications.
- Verify and certify subcontractor bills.
- Prepare variation orders (VO), change orders, and additional work claims.
- Monitor project budgets, committed costs, and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate with procurement for material quantity verification.
- Prepare project cash flow and cost reports.
- Assist in contract administration and commercial correspondence.
- Maintain quantity records, cost databases, and documentation.
- Support project planning by monitoring commercial progress.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and company procedures.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial updates.
- Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, and clients regarding quantity-related matters.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in MEP projects.
- Experience in commercial, residential, hospital, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Positive understanding of MEP systems and construction methodology.
- Experience in quantity surveying, billing, estimation, and cost control.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, ELV, or Utility projects.
- Experience working with consultants and EPC contractors.
