Plizma Technology is looking for a technically sound and result-oriented Technical Sales Engineer for its Water and Wastewater Treatment division.

The candidate will be responsible for generating business opportunities, conducting customer meetings and site visits, understanding technical requirements, coordinating techno-commercial proposals and converting enquiries into orders.

This is an office-linked field sales position. The candidate will be based in Kolkata and will be required to travel extensively across West Bengal and other assigned territories.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate enquiries for ETP, STP, WTP, RO, UF, DM Plant, Softener, ZLD and other water-treatment projects.
- Identify and approach potential industrial, institutional and government customers.
- Develop business from industries such as steel, mining, power, textile, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, hospitals, hotels, railways and infrastructure projects.
- Conduct customer meetings, preliminary site surveys and technical discussions.
- Understand the customers water and wastewater-treatment requirements.
- Collect water-analysis reports, flow details, operating hours, site information and other technical inputs.
- Coordinate with the proposal, process-design and project-execution teams.
- Prepare or assist in preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Present suitable treatment processes and solutions to customers and consultants.
- Follow up on quotations, technical clarifications, commercial negotiations and order finalization.
- Develop relationships with consultants, contractors, architects, project-management consultants and industry associations.
- Maintain systematic records of leads, visits, enquiries, quotations and expected orders.
- Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Coordinate with customers for payment follow-up whenever required.
- Attend the Kolkata office and participate in regular sales and pipeline-review meetings.

Candidate Profile




- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical, Civil or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, industrial sales or project sales.
- Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental projects, pumps, process equipment or industrial machinery will be preferred.
- Basic knowledge of ETP, STP, WTP, RO, UF, DM Plant, Softener and ZLD systems.
- Ability to understand water-analysis reports and basic process requirements.
- Good communication, presentation, negotiation and follow-up skills.
- Must be comfortable with regular customer visits and outstation travel.
- Should be able to work independently and develop recent customers.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, email and sales reporting is required.
- Own two-wheeler and valid driving licence will be preferred.

Territory The candidate will be based in Kolkata and may be assigned customers and projects across:
- West Bengal
- Jharkhand
- Bihar
- North-East India
- Other territories depending on business requirements

Field Activity and Reporting Requirements
- This is a field-intensive sales role and not a work-from-home position.
- Regular reporting at the Kolkata office will be mandatory.
- Daily visit plans and end-of-day activity reports must be submitted.
- GPS-supported customer visit records and meeting details will be required.
- Customer name, contact person, discussion outcome and next action must be recorded after every visit.
- The candidate must be willing to undertake frequent outstation travel.
- Territory may be assigned outside the candidates immediate residential area.
- Performance will be evaluated based on qualified enquiries, quotations, sales pipeline and order conversion—not merely the number of visits.

Preferred Candidate Candidates having an existing network among industries, consultants, contractors, government departments or project owners in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar or the North-East will be given preference.
