Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader with strong expertise in Node.js, React, AWS, and Microservices, capable of leading high-performing development teams while making key architectural decisions.
You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams to build secure, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. This role combines technical leadership, solution architecture, and hands-on development while mentoring engineers and driving engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive technical strategy, architecture, and engineering best practices across projects.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security, and quality guidelines.
- Guide technical decision-making and resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Participate in sprint planning, technical estimation, release planning, and backlog refinement.
- Identify technical risks, manage technical debt, and recommend long-term architectural improvements.
- Support production releases and participate in incident analysis and resolution when required.
2. System Design & Microservices
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable, secure, and highly available applications using modern software architecture principles.
- Drive High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) discussions, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
- Design, develop, and optimize Microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures for enterprise-scale applications.
- Architect scalable asynchronous workflows and inter-service communication using messaging and event-streaming technologies.
- Define API standards, service contracts, and integration patterns to ensure interoperability and maintainability across distributed systems.
- Ensure system scalability, fault tolerance, resilience, observability, performance, and reliability through industry best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend architectural improvements, technology choices,
and design patterns to support long-term platform growth and engineering excellence.
3. Full-Stack Development
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade web applications using Node.js, Express.js, React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Develop scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, and reusable frontend components following industry best practices.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and security.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Define and maintain API contracts, integration patterns, and coding standards to ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend systems.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and promote engineering best practices across the development team.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvements in application architecture, performance, and maintainability.
4. Cloud & DevOps
- Design, architect, and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available applications on AWS using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to design cloud-native infrastructure, deployment strategies, and production environments.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable, automated, and efficient application deployments.
- Containerize applications using Docker and support orchestration using Kubernetes in collaboration with platform engineering teams.
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Drive cloud security, cost optimization, scalability, and performance best practices across AWS environments.
- Monitor application and infrastructure health using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and centralized logging solutions.
- Support production deployments, troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, and ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence.
5. Database & Performance
- Design scalable data models using MongoDB and relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL).
- Implement caching strategies using Redis.
- Optimize database performance, indexing, and query efficiency.
- Ensure application scalability and efficient resource utilization.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineering role.
- Strong expertise in Node.js, Express.js, React.js, Next.js, and TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Proven experience designing and building scalable Microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and High-Level/Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD).
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, cloud-native application development, and scalable infrastructure.
- Experience with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines; exposure to Kubernetes is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of MongoDB and relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with caching technologies such as Redis and performance optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of application security, API security, OWASP best practices, and secure software development principles.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
- Proven experience conducting architecture reviews, code reviews, technical mentoring, and engineering governance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
