Responsibilities Promote an integrated Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) approach and effective industrial risk prevention practices.
Ensure the continuation and expansion of company activities while maintaining strict control over environmental impacts and continuously improving product performance.
Drive the organization towards Zero Accidents and Zero Occupational Diseases, and sustain these standards across all operations.
Develop and maintain business continuity plans, identify safety issues in existing operations, and implement appropriate corrective solutions.
Engage with employees and OSSP teams to create a safety-conscious work environment and strengthen the overall EHS culture.
Identify and control unsafe conditions and ensure consideration of short-, medium-, and long-term health and safety impacts associated with processes and products.
Reduce consumption of natural resources, minimize waste generation, monitor physical hazards, and support the development of energy-efficient products and processes.
Conduct EHS risk assessments and implement necessary corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001, and ILO standards to sustain and continuously improve EHS management systems.
Plan and conduct EHS audits and internal audits to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Lead accident and incident investigations, including reporting, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and trend analysis.
Spearhead EHS improvement initiatives within the plant by identifying, conceptualizing, and implementing improvement projects.
Monitor and measure EHS performance indicators, manage work permit systems for hazardous activities, and evaluate their effectiveness.
Develop EHS training programs and conduct awareness sessions for employees while driving World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities under the EHS pillar.
Manage contractor EHS performance and ensure compliance with company and statutory safety requirements.
Ensure EHS compliance in all current projects, process modifications, and operational changes.
Maintain compliance with all applicable statutory requirements related to the Factory Inspector, Pollution Control Board, and other EHS regulatory authorities.
Plan, coordinate, and conduct emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response drills and mock exercises to ensure plant readiness.
Engineering
Graduate (Chemical / Mechanical/ Environment preferred) with Diploma in Industrial Safety from RLI. Post-Graduation in industrial safety is an added advantage. 10-12 years of relevant experience
