JOB TITLE: INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST {Dental Process}

Job Summary:

We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy problem-solving, researching information, and following structured processes.

As a Dental Insurance Verification Specialist, you will review patient schedules, verify dental insurance benefits through payer portals and insurance representatives, complete insurance breakdowns, and document your findings directly within our clients' Practice Management Systems.

No prior dental insurance verification experience is required. We are committed to training the right candidate. If you have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and are eager to learn, we'll teach you everything you need to know.

What You'll Do

- Review upcoming patient schedules within dental Practice Management Systems.
- Identify patients requiring insurance verification or benefit breakdowns.
- Verify active insurance coverage through payer portals and insurance representatives via calls.
- Complete detailed insurance benefit breakdowns.
- Research and document:
- Deductibles
- Annual maximums
- Preventive, basic, and major benefits
- Frequencies and limitations
- Waiting periods
- Missing tooth clauses
- Downgrades
- Fee schedules
- Network participation
- Claims addresses
- Payor IDs
- Patient financial responsibility




- Contact insurance carriers by phone or secure communication channels when additional information is required.
- Upload completed verification forms and documentation into the client's Practice Management System.
- Update insurance information as needed while following each practice's established workflow.
- Communicate important findings such as inactive policies, exhausted annual maximums, or missing information to the appropriate office contacts.
- Follow internal quality assurance procedures to ensure consistent, accurate work.
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and protect all patient information.
