Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, maintenance, and optimization of our on-premises, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft 365 environments.

You will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our core systems, including virtualization platforms, enterprise storage solutions, Microsoft 365 productivity services, and cloud-connected services. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Systems Management

Design, deploy, configure, and maintain on-premises server infrastructure including physical and virtual environments.

Administer and optimize virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V) including host clustering, vMotion, and resource management.

Monitor system health, capacity, and performance, proactively addressing issues before they impact operations.

Maintain hardware lifecycle management, provisioning, patching, and decommissioning.

Work with end users and app developers to assist and troubleshoot applications as necessary.

Azure Cloud and M365 Operations

Architect, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure and cloud resources including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, and Azure AD.

Support Azure-based workloads including IaaS migrations, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).

Familiar with managing Entra ID, creating app registrations and service principles and assigning permissions and admin consent.

Support hybrid identity environments integrating on-premises Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID via Azure AD Connect.

Monitor M365 service health, usage analytics, and license consumption, providing regular reporting to stakeholders

Email & Security Infrastructure





Administer and maintain Microsoft Exchange (on-premises and/or hybrid) including mailbox management, transport rules, and connectors.

Manage Proofpoint email security platform including policy configuration, threat intelligence, quarantine management, and reporting.

Collaborate with the security team to investigate email-borne threats and implement remediation measures.

Maintain email hygiene standards including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC configuration and monitoring.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform to streamline repetitive operational tasks.

Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices and CI/CD pipeline integration where applicable.

Document all systems, configurations, runbooks, and procedures in the knowledge management system.

Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve system reliability, security, or operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Support

Serve as an escalation point (Tier 3) for infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.

Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical systems outside of normal business hours.

Partner with application teams, security, and vendors to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.

Required Qualifications Education

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent qualified experience.

Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering or infrastructure administration roles.

Proven experience managing and supporting hybrid (on-premises + cloud)



IT environments.

Demonstrated experience with enterprise virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V).

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services and hybrid connectivity.

Technical Skills

VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN), Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent platforms.

Microsoft Azure IaaS, Azure AD, hybrid networking, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup/ASR.

Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, Azure AD Connect.

Enterprise SAN/NAS administration, storage replication, snapshot management, backup technologies.

TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching fundamentals, firewall basics.

PowerShell for automation, Azure CLI, and/or terraform.

Windows Server (2016/2019/2022/2025), Linux administration (RHEL/Ubuntu preferred).

Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/2019) administration, including hybrid Exchange deployments and Exchange Online.

Proofpoint Email Protection policy management, threat response, and email security best practices.

Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management practices and service desk tools such as ServiceNow.

Experience with monitoring platforms such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Datadog, or Azure Monitor.

Knowledge of backup and DR solutions (Veeam, Zerto, Azure Site Recovery).

Relevant certifications: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent.
