The SolarWinds Administrator is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day operations, configuration, and maintenance of the SolarWinds monitoring platform . This role focuses on monitoring coverage, alert management, basic troubleshooting, and operational support, while working under the guidance of senior administrators. The position is ideal for candidates with around 3 years of hands‑on experience who are looking to grow into a SolarWinds SME role.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & Platform Support
- Support administration of the SolarWinds Orion platform for network and server monitoring.
- Onboard new devices and validate monitoring configurations.
- Perform routine health checks and basic troubleshooting of polling or data collection issues.
- Escalate complex issues to senior SolarWinds administrators as required.
Alerting & Incident Support
- Configure and maintain basic alert rules and threshold settings.
- Monitor and respond to SolarWinds alerts as part of L1/L2 support.
- Validate alert recovery and assist in resolving alerts that do not auto‑explicit.
- Support incident creation and updates via ITSM integrations (e.g., ServiceNow).
Dashboards & Reporting
- Create and maintain standard dashboards and views for operations teams.
- Generate basic performance, availability, and utilization reports.
- Assist in validating reports and dashboards used for SLA tracking.
Operational Collaboration
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis discussions.
- Follow defined operational processes, documentation, and escalation paths.
- Support transition and KT activities under guidance from senior resources.
Required Skills & Expertise
