Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sub-Sea Structural Design Engineer to join a major Oil & Gas EPC project team. The successful candidate will lead and execute structural analysis and design of subsea assets — manifolds, PLETs/ILTs, flowlines mitigation devices, and foundation structures — using advanced FEM tools (ANSYS and/or Abaqus, and SACS). This role spans the full project lifecycle from FEED through detailed design to installation support.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and validate FEM models (ANSYS Mechanical / APDL / Abaqus) for subsea structures; perform static, non-linear, fatigue (S-N / fracture mechanics), and buckling analyses.

- Execute ULS, FLS, ALS, and SLS checks per applicable offshore codes (DNV, API, ISO, NORSOK, Eurocode 3).

- Structural design and sizing of subsea steel — manifolds, mudmat foundations, spool supports, suction piles, and tie-in structures.

- Perform lifting, load-out, sea-fastening, and installation analyses; design lifting pad-eyes and rigging arrangements.

- Conduct piping design assessments; integrate with structural global analyses (SACS, SESAM, CAESAR II) as well as forged pieces design (Abaqus)

- Prepare,



check, and approve structural calculation packages, engineering reports, and IFC deliverables.

- Interface with installation method, pipeline, naval architecture, geotechnical, and process disciplines within multi-discipline EPC teams.

- Mentor junior engineers and support client design reviews, ,.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Structural, Civil, Mechanical, or Ocean/Offshore Engineering.

- 5–15 years in structural engineering within Oil & Gas, Offshore EPC, or Marine sectors.

- Demonstrated ANSYS and/or Abaqus FEM delivery on subsea or offshore structures.

- Deepwater project experience (>500 m) is a solid advantage.

- Chartered Engineer (CEng — IStructE / ICE / IMechE) preferred.

- BOSIET / HUET offshore safety certification (required for site/vessel access).

- Prior experience at Saipem, TechnipFMC, Subsea 7, McDermott, Aker Solutions, Oceaneering, Wood, or Worley is advantageous.

- Materials knowledge: CS, duplex/superduplex SS, CRA clad, Inconel alloys.
