Position: Warehouse Management System (WMS) Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Noida / Haridwar (Onsite)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Management System (WMS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 9+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, and WMS solution implementation. The ideal candidate will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders, warehouse operations teams, customers, and product development teams to ensure warehouse processes are effectively translated into scalable software solutions.
The candidate will drive requirement gathering, process optimization, solution validation, product enhancements, and customer success initiatives while ensuring operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and compliance with warehouse standards.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirement Management
- Gather, analyze, and document warehouse business requirements from customers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), business process flows, functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Translate operational requirements into scalable and efficient WMS solutions.
Warehouse Operations & Process Design
- Design, validate, and optimize warehouse workflows including:
- Inbound Receiving
- Put-away Management
- Storage & Bin/Rack Management
- Inventory Control
- Picking & Packing
- Dispatch & Shipping
- Stock Transfers
- Reverse Logistics & Returns Management
- Ensure accurate implementation of warehouse best practices and operational processes.
WMS Functional Expertise
- Validate and support warehouse functionalities such as:
- Barcode & RFID Scanning
- Bin and Rack Management
- Batch and Serial Number Tracking
- FIFO / FEFO Inventory Management
- Cycle Counting & Physical Inventory
- Replenishment Planning
- Inventory Visibility & Traceability
- Warehouse Task Management
- Productivity Monitoring & Reporting
Product Development & Testing Support
- Collaborate closely with Product Management, Development, QA, and Operations teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Review solution designs and provide domain guidance during development.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, UAT documents, release notes, and user manuals.
- Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate business processes before production deployment.
- Ensure software releases meet operational and business expectations.
Customer Implementation & Support
- Support customer onboarding, implementation, configuration, and process mapping activities.
- Conduct workshops, product demonstrations, training sessions, and knowledge transfer programs.
- Assist customers in process optimization and warehouse performance improvement initiatives.
- Analyze production issues, identify root causes, and provide functional resolutions.
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Recommend enhancements to improve warehouse productivity, operational efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control policies, audit requirements, SOPs, and warehouse operational standards.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging warehouse technologies to drive innovation and product improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Information Technology,
or a related field.
- 9+ years of experience in Warehouse Operations, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or WMS Product Implementation.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end warehouse operations and inventory management processes.
- Extensive experience in gathering business requirements and preparing functional documentation.
- Proven experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and enterprise applications.
- Robust understanding of warehouse KPIs, inventory controls, and operational efficiency metrics.
- Experience in software implementation, testing, and deployment support.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with leading WMS platforms and warehouse automation solutions.
- Knowledge of RFID, Barcode Scanning, Handheld Devices, and Mobility Solutions.
- Familiarity with ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Understanding of Supply Chain and Logistics processes.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Knowledge of warehouse automation technologies and Industry 4.0 practices.
- Exposure to reporting and analytics tools.
